Recently one of my friends went to NYC and asked me if I wanted anything brining back. Well this Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit was top of my list.
One of the first things that I fell in love with when I saw this kit for the first time was the size. Its huge!. I like large palettes as I think that it justifies the amount of money that you spend on them. The 4 highlighting powders in this kit are large, and you get a lot of powder for what you pay for.
Out of the 3 Glow kits that you can currently buy I got the ‘GLEAM’ silver cool toned highlighting palette. I think that this is a right palette for someone with fair, quite light skin tones. The other kits I would suggest are for darker and olive skin tones.
The Gleam Glow Kit includes 4 highlighting powders with pinky/rose/golden tones. All 4 shades are very pretty on the skin and last ALL DAY. I cant stand highlighters that blow off when you walk out the door. This stuff lasts and makes you look incredible.
The names of each powder are also something I love about this palette.
- Hard Candy – A peachy pink highlighter, great when you have a tan. This gives a pearl like finish.
- Starburst – A rose gold highlighter, perfect for injecting into a subtle rosy cheek natural look.
- Mimosa – GOLD GOLD GOLD and more GOLD. This is the ultimate highlight and my favourite of the 4 and leaves that fantasy finish.
- Crushed Pearl – pearly pink leaving an iridescent finish.
Can you see the little half moon shapes in the corner of all the palettes?. These allow you to take out the powder of your choice if you run out and wish to replace! I think this is a great idea as you can change the palette to become whatever you wish! You can also remove your favourite powders and safely store them in another container or holder for when your on the go/ packing for a holiday.
Below I have a done a swatch so you can see them on a fair/light skin type. These highlighters are truly beautiful and no photo does them justice!
Application: Using a Real Techniques Bold Metals tapered brush I dust these powders where ever I want the skin to look kissed by the light. I use mainly on the top of my cheek bones, brow bone, top of lip, the bridge of the nose and my decolletage (collar bone area), and arms and legs. I have also used these powders as eye shadows. They don’t crease and make my eyes look super shimmery and beautiful.
The only thing I wish this product had was a mirror inside. It would be perfect (10/10) for me then as at the moment it is quite big to use. It would have been perfect to take away as you wouldn’t have to take a mirror anywhere again but unfortunately the silver packaging is carried through under the opening flapped lid which is a bit disappointing.
I have never tried any Anastasia Beverly Hills products before and I have been really impressed with the quality and pigment of this product. Do you have any ABH products? if so let me know what’s good/ what’s not worth the hype.
