So I thought id do a little post on one of my favourite new foundations that I have discovered this year, its high end, but totally worth the money.
I discovered the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation about 4 months ago. I went to Meadowhall, Sheffield for the day and fancied getting a new foundation from MAC. I’ve always had the studio fix fluid, but i got bored of it and decided to try something different.
I said to the MAC assistant that I wanted to be re matched to a shade, and I wanted a medium coverage foundation which made my skin look natural and dewy. She then suggested the studio sculpt foundation, popped a bit on the side of my cheek for me to make a decision and it was an instant match made in heaven.
I loved the ‘dewy’ look on the skin, and felt like I didn’t have any foundation on – unlike the studio fix fluid which can feel a bit heavy and also look a bit heavy.
I also loved the bottle. This is a great style of foundation packaging – slim so you can pop it on your make up bag, plastic – so no worries that is will smash if you take it on your holidays; and no pump – which means you have complete control of how much you wish to use instead of wasting expensive foundation! #winningatlife .
Application: This is a gel-based foundation so it is easily build able if you would like medium to full coverage. I tend to use a beauty blending sponge or a real techniques buffing brush to work the foundation into my skin for a healthy glow kind of finish. I normally use a pea sized amount to cover my whole face for a day make up, and then add a bit more for special occasions. I also tend to use the Rimmel 25 hour primer (read here) as a base for this foundation – this is purely to give the foundation something to hang onto as well as preventing oil and dryness of my base.
Tip: Always shake a bottle of foundation before you use it, the formula can settle and split, therefore give it a good shake every time you use it. I tend to use this foundation for special occasions as it is expensive (I use Rimmel from day to day) therefore it needs a good shake!
The shade I use is NW15 as I have quite light/fair skin tone. I would recommend that you always ask one of the assistants to match your skin tone to a foundation. Youll will end up with a flawless finish and no orange line around your face. They will also recommend the best foundation for your skin type. NOTE: just because your one shade in one MACfoundation doesn’t mean your are the same shade in all the others! All MAC foundations have different formulas to suit the coverage type. Therefore always get re-match if you fancy a change.
I gave this foundation an 8/10 due to the price. I think this is just as good as any high street foundation, however it does last longer and provides enough coverage for me.
