Recently I have joined in on so many #bblogger twitter chats. Normally we get talking about skin care and the question ‘should I try Liz Earle?’ always comes up. So this post is to the girl that keeps eyeing up Liz Earle and needs more info on whether its just a hyped range of products or one that needs a space on your bathroom shelf.

I discovered the brand Liz Earle about two years ago on YouTube in a favourites video of Velvet Ghost. Around this time I was starting to increase the amount of make up I wore everyday and really wanted my skin to be cleansed properly so the quality of my skin wouldn’t decrease from the copious amounts of make up.
I went into my local John Lewis and picked up the ‘cleanse and polish starter kit‘ for £15.50. I found that one pump of the cleanser melted away all of the make up on my face along with all my heavy mascara. From that moment on I have not stopped re purchasing bottles of the stuff and I don’t think there will ever come a day where I don’t have tube of cleanse and polish!
So what is a hot cloth cleanser you ask?
Well, what you do is pump or squeeze one 10p sized amount of cleanser onto your hand and apply it to DRY skin (trust me). Then you dampen the muslin cloth that comes with the cleanser with hand hot water and then use it to wipe away any cleanser on your face. Thus resulting in skin looking refreshed and clean.
The make up breaks up when the cleanser is applied and then the hot cloth acts like a magnet to make sure pores open and all the dirt is removed. The muslin cloth also acts as an exfoliator so your skin is left feeling super smooth. I tend to use the muslin cloth provided about 3 times then pop it in the wash. You get two cloths with every purchase so its really easy to have one clean cloth spare!
The original blue/green coloured tube or bottle of Liz Earle contains ingredients such as beeswax, chamomile, cocoa butter and eucalyptus oil. The ingredients work together to soften and nourish the skin, allowing the skin to glow once the cleanser has worked.
About 2/3 times a year Liz Earle releases a Limited Edition scent of the cleanse and polish (such as the while bottle in my picture with a pretty pattern). I now make the effort to try these! The cleanser works in exactly the same way as the original, however the scent changes it up a bit and you never become bored of the product. You also get a silver trimmed muslin cloth too instead of mint green, so I like to expand my collection haha (I’m so sad).
After a few times of buying the pump bottle of cleanse and polish (white bottle) I have changed and moved to the tube version. I would recommend the tube over the pump as you have more control over how much product is dispensed. This product is quite expensive so you need to use it and not waste a load every time! I now even have a travel size baby tube version, its super cute and so handy for whenever I am away. Currently on the website when you make an order over £50 you get 5 travel minis which is amazing!
I currently use the cleanser to remove all of my make up apart from my eyes. This was because the cleanser was quite heavy on my eyes and made them sting, therefore I use my Clarins Gentle eye make up remover which you can read all about here. Each 200ml cleanser tends to last me about 4 months. I use it 3 times a week, along with an everyday Nivea cleanser to wake my skin up!
Liz Earle is a great brand to try at any age. The products are super kind and non irritable for sensitive skin like mine. This product has been very favourable to my skin, this led to me recently purchasing products from the Liz Earle hair care line. You can read about that here. The hair oil is just everything!!!!
I hope those of you that were un-decided now realise that this product is totally worth the hype and that you need one in your life. Its so worth giving this product a go; it will amaze you how clean your skin is after using it, and you will never go to pick up a face wipe again.
My current collection will forever expand. I can’t wait until the next limited edition cleanse and polish it around Christmas time so I can treat myself and start the love affair all over again. Oh yes there is another amazing Liz Earle product in the photo above, but that is for another post beauts, so keep one eye on my twitter for hints of release.
Let me know what you think about the cleanse and polish, or whether this post has made you want to treat yourself to the starter kit!?
love you all,
