It seems like brows are the talk of 2016. It has become the feature that I tend to focus on in any selfie or picture, and I have decided that my new pet peeve of 2016 is bad brows.
For those of you that want to achieve those #browgoals, but are saving for something like uni/holidays/ house deposit (me) sometimes you don’t want to spend an awful lot on make up; however you do want your features to look flawless 24/7. I have found two products that are super easy to use, and really help perfect your eyebrows.
Beautiful brows are 100% achievable with the Boots Natural Collection Brow collection. Firstly they offer a brow pencil, wax/powder kit and a brow gel. So however you do your brows everyday a product is ready and waiting for you to go and grab.
I tend to use a brow gel or brow kit for my own brows as I’m a bit heavy handed with a pencil (as in my brows look completely drawn on – cringe). So I popped into my local Boots and got a brow kit (only do one shade at the moment – dark brown) and a brow gel (comes in medium and dark brown).
The brow kit is worth more than £1.99 in my opinion. You get a wax, powder, mini spoolie, and a mini angled double ended brush. This kit is perfect to throw in your make up bag or handbag and helps you tame and angle your brows to perfection. I use this most days for shaping my brows and setting them in place. Most of my friends don’t tend to use the wax, however I would totally recommend it. I normally rub my finger in the wax to make it warm, then take it off my finger with the angled brush. This way the wax is thinner when you apply it to your brows so you wont get that clumpy dried look.
The only thing missing from this brow kit is a small highlighter. If a brow kit included this I would pay a bit more and get something like the maybelline brow kit (read here). However you cant really complain for £1.99. The powder is also build-able if you want to define your brows for a fuller/thicker look.
Recently I have been obsessed with the Benefit Cosmetics ‘Gimmie Brow’. I really love this product and it has given my instant full brows. I all of a sudden got scared that I would run out and not have any other stand in brow gel apart from my maybelline brow mascara. I have got that obsessed with brow gels that I want to start a little collection and see which ones I love the most.
I decided to buy the Natural collection brow gel in dark brown (this is super dark – I might even purchase medium brown next time). The applicator brush is shaped just like a mascara wand an allows you to create full brow look.
The only annoying thing about the brow gel is that the applicator can apply a lot of gel to your brows all at once. This can either create the perfect look or a really heavy and crusty slug brow that is horrid. After a few goes you get the knack of it and can create a good full brow however I think a smaller brush on any brow mascara is better. I will buy this again but if you are just starting out in shaping your brows then the brow kit is the one for you!
I love products that are cheap and work just as well as expensive ones. This is a great find for me. After buying these I didn’t feel guilty, and I was super happy I got 2 bits of decent make up for less than £4.
Are you currently saving? let me know what you are saving for and if you have any good saving tips! – I’m currently saving for a house deposit can be hard when the world is full of beautiful things that I need.
