I absolutely love a bargain. Whenever I see a good deal I have to get it, then tell everyone else so they can get the same enjoyment as me! I also love liquid lipsticks, they are a newly discovered beauty product for me and now I can’t live without them. I recently went shopping and saw that you could get 4 of these amazing liquid lipsticks for just £5 – they went straight in my basket.
If you’ve never tried any ‘Sleek‘ products before then you need to get down to Boots or Superdrug and give them a go. Their lipsticks and highlighters are amazing and the prices of all their products are crazy cheap and good quality.
I was recently in Boots having a browse through the Christmas gift aisles getting some ideas for my loved ones when I came across this little Sleek package with ‘4 mini matte me’ liquid lipsticks.
I noticed that all the shades would be ones that I would wear during the autumn/ winter season and that they were only £5. So basically I would be getting 4 lipsticks for £1.25 each – AMAZING.
Sleek liquid lipsticks are really easy to apply and dry matte very quickly (about 15 secs). I find that I only have to top my lipstick up once a day and the pigmentation of the lipsticks lasts hours. In the mini matte collection you get 4 lovely shades, which are PERFECT for Autumn and Winter. The lipsticks are also matte creams – I find that this doesnt dry my lips out too much and makes sure that the look has definition and not just a dry stain on my lips. Oddly the applicator of the mini mattes is better than the full size version – odd but a small bonus!
Below you can see each shade swatched on my hand. I don’t think any of these shades look ‘too much’ on my pale skin tone, I have worn them all now and have been complimented lots by my friends and family.
So lets start with Velvet Slipper… aka my 2016 Halloween lipstick. This deep purple/plum shade is perfect for autumn. I am going as a mermaid for Halloween, and im using lots a purples and violets and golds to create my look therefore this lip will look amazing and complete the look I’m going for. You only need one application of this shade for full coverage and pigment – this means that I don’t have to worry about the horrid photos of me towards the end of my Halloween party as my lips will still be on point. Its very hard to apply a dark lip when you’ve been sipping lots of Halloween punch so you need it to have staying power!
The second shade is my Christmas Day lip – Rioja Red. This vibrant orangey/red shade will be perfect for Christmas Day and any Christmas parties that you might have. It oozes festive and will look great with a black winged liner and gold eye shadow. Everyone loves a red lip so this is a perfect one to add to your collection.
The third shade is actually a Sleek lipstick I already own in the standard size and is their most popular shade – Birthday Suit. This is a muted pink/nude shade and looks great with any everyday make up look. I like to wear a brown smokey eye with this shade and lots of bronzer. I think its really good that Sleek have decided to put their most popular shade within this mini gift set as it is a shade that anyone would like.
The final shade screams autumn cocktails with the girls – Old Hollywood. For me this deep, wine shade is perfect and is my favourite of the 4. I think this is such a sophisticated lip and would suit any make up look and any autumn fashion. This lip with knee high boots – YES PLEASE SISTER. I have worn this pretty much every weekend since I got these lipsticks, and I will be buying the full size version after it runs out!
For five pounds I really think you can’t go wrong. These are the perfect gift for one of your friends, or a perfect little treat for you and three friends if you want to share! The lipsticks are a little big bigger than a MAC lip bullet – so you still get loads of product even though they are meant to be mini. I think this is so good as they fit into your handbag/make up bag/clutch really easily and they also have a really nice design.
