Nivea is one of my favourite skin care brands. I have used their products for years as they don’t irritate my skin, and provide great results and they’re super affordable. The new Nivea Crème range is no different.
Not long ago to my surprise I was contacted by Nivea to say that they had read my blog (OMG) and wanted to send me some products from their new Nivea Crème range that they released in summer 2016 to review. I thought that this was amazing, little old me being contacted by one of the world’s best skin care brands. I took the offer and for the past month I’ve being trying out their products to share my thoughts on them with you. The products sent included an antiperspirant balm, in-shower moisturiser, lip butter and cleansing lotion all from the new Crème range.
Surprisingly my favourite of them all is the antiperspirant stick/balm. I am a through and through spray deodorant kind of gal (I use dove). I don’t use roll on deodorant as I find them too wet and sticky, I think it doesn’t work as well as a spray. I then tried the Nivea Crème ‘Protect & Care’ balm and found that product was the absolute opposite of what I was expecting. The balm when applied to your underarms is not wet at all, it actually dries super quickly on the skin.
I also put this deodorant to the exercise test. As you know I am a keen runner and love a spot of Zumba every week. This deodorant prevented some sweat and maintained its fresh scent on my skin before and after exercise! I have actually decided to keep using this deodorant over my spray and will purchase it myself when It runs out. No more will I be choked to death by spray, or have to hold a freezing cold tin on a winter’s morning in my bathroom! I would even recommend this to men as it has quite a unisex smell.
Second is the Lip Butter. Nivea is my new best friend as they sent me it in the scent ‘coconut’. As you know I’m obsessed with coconut skin care such as the Body Shop’s coconut range – read here. This lip butter acts just like any other but it lasts longer and is a bit richer. The lip balm is quite and opaque white so I tend to keep it on my bedside table at night and put it on as I go to bed. I also keep have it in my car too for when my drive to work in a morning. It’s a lovely lip balm for saving dry lips, but for day to day wear I use my Kiko ones – read here.
The third product that I want to include in my review is the Nivea Crème range ‘in-shower body moisturiser’. This product is perfect when you don’t have enough time to apply moisturiser all over your body after you get out the shower. I now use this every time I have a shower after using shower gel. I use in exactly the same way as shower gel, putting more on my legs after I’ve shaved them. I have found that my skin is super silky smooth and doesn’t get dry throughout the day.
I mentioned last month in my beauty routine for autumn and winter post that you should step up on your moisturising in winter. I have found that this product has helped me with this. At a time where my skin is normally dry it is now super hydrated and moisturised. I’ve not seen many in-shower body moisturisers have you? It’s definitely a great product, I have the sea minerals scent, however I have seen in drugstores that you can also get a cocoa butter scented one!
The final product I’d like to review from the Nivea Crème range is the cleansing lotion. As you all know I’m obsessed with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water – read here. To me this cleanser is the winner however I was intrigued to know what a cleansing lotion was like. I currently use the Nivea Daily Cleanser which I love so I thought the lotion form of product would also be as high quality.
You basically put the cleanser on a cotton pad and then use it like a makeup remover on your face, neck and eyes. I was really surprised that you didn’t need to use water/cloth to remove it from your skin; therefore it’s a great cleanser to use in a hurry. It removes all my makeup really well, along with my eye makeup leaving my skin moisturised after. I now use this cleansing lotion to take off my make up when I get in from work as I don’t tend to wear much (Read Here). For heavier make up I still use the micellar water and Clarins eye makeup remover. I have also used it in a morning as a refresher for my skin!
I would recommend all of these products to anyone as I always recommend Nivea as a Brand. I always find that their products work with my skin and provide the results that I want. They also don’t break the bank! Which one of these four would you choose? Let me know if you use any of these products already, i’d love you know your thoughts on my Twitter or Instagram please! Also a final thanks to Nivea for sending me some beautiful products and introducing me to even more wonderful products!
