Its getting closer to Christmas now and I’m starting to get all of my party outfits ready for all my Christmas and New Year celebrations! My last post was all about a festive look that you can create using high street products. This post is how to create a similar look using High End make up products.
As said in my last post… for me Christmas is the time to go super glam on your make-up. Now is the time for lots of highlighter, glitter, and red lips. I always like to wear a lot of make up for a Christmas party as it makes me feel confident and festive. Over the years for birthdays and previous Christmas’s i have received a lot of high end make up as gifts. Hopefully some of the pieces I have in this post may sway you to add them to your Christmas list too – you still have time! NOTE before I apply any kind of makeup I use a good moisturiser (Nivea) and then either a cream or gel primer depending on my skin that day. I love the Rimmel London 25 hour Primer – read here.
I love the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation for a flawless full coverage finish. For me when applied over A LOT of moisturiser (it can be quite drying) all of the redness in my skin is covered. This cream to powder foundation sets beautifully. It comes in a huge variety of shades and is the same price as a MAC studio fix fluid. If you haven’t given this stuff a go do it as its fabulous! I currently use the shade ‘2-fair’.
If you have read previous posts of mine then you will know that I really like translucent powder. I think that this MAC Prep and Prime powder is my favourite. I have purchased this powder time and time again over the years and it will forever be my bestie in my clutch bag at any occasion! I like to use this powder to set my under eyes and matte my t-zone. When you apply this powder you do not need to use a lot to get a matte finish – this is perfect as your money goes a long way!
CONTOUR AND HIGHLIGHT:
Ever since this Contour and Highlight palette came into my life there hasn’t been a better one. This palette is my most treasured and beautiful as it gives the most glamorous look every time I apply it. If this doesn’t scream party then I don’t know what does. The Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette by Charlotte Tilbury was bought for me as a present from all of my girls for my 21st birthday. I use it all the time but you can tell after 2 years you don’t need to use too much product at all (great for £49). This is the Light-Medium shade palette. I would recommend this for anyone who loves to contour and highlight – don’t get it if you’ve never done it before as it will be a waste! BLUSHER AND BRONZER:
This summer I purchased the Clarins 2016 limited edition Summer Bronzer and its the most perfect high end make up piece. For starters its super huge so it will last me forever! The blush shade provides the most perfect peach kiss to your cheeks and the 3 sculpt and bronze shades are really buildable providing a nice shimmer to the cheeks or a real bronzed goddess look! I will be using the Blusher in my party look this year, with the lighter shimmer bronze shade on my temples.
Benefit Gimmie Brow is pretty much at the top of my 2016 favourites. I have shade 5 and I use it EVERYDAY. When applied it makes my brows look so full and shaped to perfection. Its also completely fail proof. The best party looks always contain killer brow looks and that’s why this little beauty is included in my high end festive look. This is a great product for anyone who wants to try out brow products for the first time. The price matches the quality of this product too!
The fallen angel palette by Charlotte Tilbury creates the most magical eye look for any party. I really like the silver and bronze shades in this eye quad. They are super pigmented, – especially when applied using a wet brush. Charlotte Tilbury eye shadows are long lasting, pigmented and designed to blend perfectly creating the most beautiful looks. I think with a festive red lip this smokey look is perfect with any outfit. It adds that extra glam and sophistication. Have you got any of the Charlotte Tilbury eye quads? which ones have you got? – Let me know on my Twitter/ Instagram . This quad is actually a luxury palette, its a bit more money but is even better quality, it also has a different pattern to other CT eye shadow compacts.
The Legendary Lashes by Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favourite mascaras for creating the best eye look. This is the perfect product if you aren’t a fan of false lashes as this mascara lengthens your lashes so much. Its also jet black so gives you the most glam look with a smokey eye. I like to use two coats of this mascara on my top lashes, and one on the bottom. Its really easy to use as the wand is shaped perfectly! Its also not the most pricey high end mascara on the market!
Two words – Ruby Woo. The perfect festive red for Christmas that will not budge for the whole party! I love this lipstick so much. This is the ultimate blue-red matte lipstick. This was actually my first ever red lipstick. I tend to use a thin lip brush and take a bit off the lip bullet and line my lips, I then use the bullet as normal to fill the rest in. do not use this on dry lips as cracks will show up straight away! Also this stuff needs a good make up remover to take if off when you get home… I like to use Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
So are you ready to get your glam on for Christmas?! I can guarantee that if you own any of these products then you will be looking amazing at any party you attend! If you don’t own any then pop them on your Christmas list and let me know what you think!
