The Beauty Analyst: January Favourites

I can’t believe January is nearly over for another year! It has been extremely cold, gloomy and quite frankly stressful but these January favourites have certainly brightened up my month and got me through all those January blues!

zoeva-and-jan-17-faves-09Let’s start with my skincare favourites…
For Christmas my boyfriend got me the Soap and Glory – The Whole Glam Lot. I’d never tried S&G products before so was really excited to try such a variety all at once! One thing I have been searching for is a decent exfoliator and I think I’ve found it! The ‘scrub of your life‘ exfoliator had really smoothed out all my dry skin on my arms and legs leaving them feel silky smooth. I now use this every three days and will definitely be re purchasing when it’s empty! These products are great quality and really affordable.

My second skincare favourite is the Nivea Daily essentials rich moisturising day cream. I love this so much, you know how much Nivea products get on with my skin so this product is perfect for me. It’s really helped my skin stay hydrated and plump throughout January, and has made sure my make up doesn’t dry out my skin. This cream is for dry and combination skin types, if you want a different one that you think you might be more suited to then read my blog post all about the different types HERE! It is also SPF 15 – so good for your skin when the sun eventually decided to say hello!

Now my January make up favourites…
The first make up favourite of Jan 17 has to be my Ted Baker lip and cheek stick. I’ve really wanted to be on holiday for the whole of January so I have been making my make up quite sun kissed. I’ve been using this coral/gold beach stick as a blush most days! I usually dot it on the apples of my cheeks and just blend in with my fingers. These beach sticks last all day and leave a lovely peachy finish to my make up! I will be so sad when this runs out as it was part of a limited edition set I got given for Christmas from my Aunty!

My second make up favourite is my Mariah Carey McIzzle MAC lipstick. I have pretty much worn this lipstick every other day in January – I absolutely love it. I always miss out on the limited edition collections at MAC so was super pleased when I managed to get my hands on this, especially because of the beautiful packaging and embossed butterfly on the lipstick itself. It’s super pretty and peachy and goes well under the gloss ‘Dream lover’ which I also got and am giving away as part of my January Blues giveaway – ENTER HERE.

Other beauty favourites…
These have to be my mini Ciate nail polishes! they are super glittery and don’t chip. I got these in the 2016 Blogger Gift Swap and it was such a cute surprise! I usually have shellac nails done but like to have a break in between so my nails keep healthy. These Ciate polishes are really good, quick drying and look super pretty when worn. The gold is my favourite! I love metallic nail polishes, they can be worn at any time of the year and they look so classy.

Random Favourites…
One of these has to be reading my The Lord of The Rings – fellowship of the ring book this month.I absolutely love reading fantasy novels. I read the Hobbit whilst I was on holiday and really loved the way the Tolkien wrote his novels, so I asked my boyfriend to get me the first Lord of The Rings for Christmas and I’m enjoying it so much! I said in my 2017 new years resolutions post (HERE) that one thing I wanted to do again is read more – so I’ve made a good start with this book in January!

My favourite songs this month have to be Castle on the Hill and Shape of You by Ed Sheeran. I absolutely love both of these songs and I’m so glad Ed is back! Wish I was going to Glastonbury this year as he will most definitely headline! – Oh well i’ll just have to get the CT Glastonberry lipstick and pretend I’m going.

My favourite TV programme this month has to be Sherlock. It is so gripping to watch and its such a shame that its ended. I could watch it over and over and still find something new each time. I love the cast and I’m already missing it! What has your favourite TV series been this month? I feel like I need to get into something new!

This month I have also hit a huge mile stone on my Twitter hitting 1,500 followers. I cannot believe it, I am so thankful to each and every one of you that have been on this blogging journey with you. I haven’t even had my blog for a year yet; so I’m glad so many of you enjoy it! I have also been trying so hard to post everyday with my Instagram. I’ve reached 400 followers, gaining 80 this month – take a look and let me know what you think beauts!

Hope you have had a fab first month of 2017, roll on February and all the love it brings!

lots of love,

I got a Soap & Glory gift set for my birthday last year and still haven’t used the products yet, waiting for my current skin care products to finish so that I can give S&G a try. Haha.

I like the Ted Baker lip and cheek tint, it’s gorgeous!

Thank you for sharing your Jan favourites. I’ve just finished typing my Jan fav post up, it’ll go up in a few days time.
