Sleek Diamonds in the Rough Palette

Sleek know how to make incredible, affordable, and gorgeous make up. This palette is my new favourite for this time of year. It’s definitely a diamond in the rough.

Sleek is a really good drugstore make up brand. You can find them in Superdrug and Boots with such a variety of great make up. Their products include some of the best highlighters and liquid lipsticks on the  beauty market.

This palette is the Sleek i-lust Diamonds in the Rough eye shadow palette. When I came across this palette I was looking at their new rock star collection and really fancied a new affordable eye shadow palette. I saw the rose gold shades and cream highlighters and thought that this would be great for me as it suits my skin tone and brown eyes.

Sleek Diamonds in the Rough palette and packaging – so pretty!

The palette comes with 6 shades. These include 4 shimmer shadows ranging from deep rose gold to pinks and champagne golds. My favourites out of all the the shades ‘marquise’and princess’. There are also two iridescent cream shadows on either end of the palette which are perfect to highlight the inner corner of the eye, brow bone or on the top of the cheek bones as a highlight! My favourite of the two cream shadows is ‘solitaire’. I think all of the shades could be a worn on any skin tone and provide a really pretty finish. You also get an applicator brush in the palette – not great but another good accessory.

The shadows are really pigmented and stay put throughout the day and night. I tend to use an eye shadow primer underneath such as MAC prep and prime for extra stay put.I think there are enough shades to create a few different looks. I also use matte shades from other palettes in particular my Zoevea Caramel Melange palette as the shades go really well together when blended.

Solitaire, Trillion and Princess

I think 2017 is the year for the pink/peach eye shadow look and this is the most affordable way to get it! The shadows create the prettiest and most girly look without being too glittery and too much. You also don’t get any fallout when applying these shadows, this is great for such an affordable product.

Ascher, Marquise and Radiant

I tend to use a medium fluffy shadow brush to blend the shadows together to get a finished look. I then use my finger to apply the cream shadow. I have also tried the shadows with a wet brush and the results were incredible. The shadows went pretty much metallic and stayed on much longer – perfect for a party!

For £7.50 this palette is a steal. The case is beautiful and you get a mirror inside! It’s really durable too, so great for travelling and just chucking into your make up bag if you’re ever in a rush! Have you got any Sleek products? What are your favourites? I really want to try out on of their highlighter palettes soon – can you recommend one?
