Hello beauts! I have never done a Day – Night skin care routine post blog. I now use these products everyday without fail so I thought I’d share what I use with you! There is also a discount code hidden within this blog post for one of the products so keep reading to find out more!
Skin care is so important to me. I wear a fair amount of make up so I want to be able to look after my skin before I apply, or after I remove my make up everyday. I use a variety of brands and products that I have discovered over the years or have tried recently and have fallen in love with.
Day / Morning Skincare:
My morning skin care never really changes too much. I’m always in a rush getting myself ready for work with zero time, or having to rush out the house on a weekend. I don’t really use many products in a morning so I try to incorporate my skincare in the shower too!
I normally take a shower and use a Nivea face wash and the Nivea in-shower body moisturiser <— this stuff is incredible. I don’t have time to moisturise my body in a morning so this product helps me do it in the shower instead. After a shower apply a face cream, eye cream and lip balm.
The face cream I use is one that I’ve previously mentioned on my blog and rave about. It is the Nivea moisturising day cream. I’m currently using the ‘Rich’ day cream (pink one) as my skin needs a bit of extra hydration in this cold weather. All 3 day creams suit my skin. The sensitive day cream is a must if you haven’t tried this product before and fancy giving it a go. I also use this cream every night before I apply a treatment mask or serum.
The eye cream I use is also one I repeatedly mention on my blog. It is the Simple Kind to eyes soothing eye balm. This eye cream is amazing at deflating the bags under your eyes and brightening them also. I use less than a pea size amount and apply with my index finger under my eyes and then on top of my eye lids. I really recommend an eye cream as it hydrates and takes care of some of the most sensitive skin on your face.
The lip care product that I use this the Nivea lip butter in ‘coconut’. This product was sent to me by Nivea a while ago and I now use it everyday. It hydrates my lips and keeps them really soft. I apply it every morning and night to make sure my lips stay in good condition even if I wear quite a drying matte lipstick that day.
Night / Evening Skincare:
As well as applying the three morning skincare products I also use an extra few products in an evening to help aid my beauty sleep! I start my skincare straight after I’ve removed the days make up. If you’re wondering I usually take off heavy make up with Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and Light make up with Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.
Night time calls for blemish control and the only thing that dries up my blemishes or removes them is Sudocrem. For me Sudocrem is the staple miracle cream for me. Ever since I was 4 and I had chicken pox in Menorca and had to pretty much bathe in this stuff for the whole holiday its been my fave. I weirdly love the smell of it too. We all own a huge grey tub of it but recently Sudocrem sent me this handy tube which decants the product a bit better and is really handy to take with you if ever you travel as its not too heavy.
After I have applied my moisturiser and eye cream I also apply either a serum or overnight treatment mask to give extra hydration to my skin. I find that the cold, wind and rainy weather really plays havoc with my skin – especially my cheeks!.
Dr Botanicals contacted me to see if I wanted to try their Advanced Purifying Overnight Masque as part of their ‘Night time beauty month’ campaign in March’17. I agreed and received this little pot of miracle cream that I now use everyday as part of my skin care routine.
This product contains ingredients such as almond and jojoba oil which really hydrate and repair the skin. It is also cruelty free and vegan which really made me love the brand.
I use a small amount of the masque which is plenty and massage it all over my face and neck. It sinks into the skin leaving it plump and hydrated every morning. I actually think that this product is a dupe of the Charlotte Tilbury Night cream as it instantly softens the skin and leaves the same result in a morning but it costs half the price (currently £79). SURPRISE!!! Dr Botanicals have given little old me a voucher code for you to use on their website HERE to get this product for £19.99 instead of £80 which is INCREDIBLE. You can also buy it at on Look Fantastic at the moment but for £39.99 so my price is the best one for you! Simply enter ‘ANALYSTBLOG‘ at the Dr Botanicals checkout for the discounted price.
You can’t forget the rest of your body when it comes to skincare. I love a great body cream that smells amazing and leaves your arms, legs, and all the bits in between hydrated. The Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion always leaves my skin smelling amazing, and feeling super soft. I use this product every other night all over my body. It has really helped my skin remain bright and tight! I also use this on my stretch marks and its faded them so much!
That’s it! I love skin care and I’m so happy I get to share and recommend what I love on my blog so it can help you if you ever want to change up your skin care routine. You don’t always need the most expensive products, find out what really helps your skin and stick to it! What is your favourite skin care at the moment? Let me know!!
The discount code once again for the Dr Botanicals mask is ‘ANALYSTBLOG‘ valid until the 31st of March 2017. Let me know if you have any problems!
Have a wonderful day,
The Beauty Analyst x
