I’m now in my mid 20’s and I am starting to notice that my skin is gradually getting older. I have more fine lines, dark circles and stress breakouts than every before. I’m always on the hunt to try anything that can help my skin turn back time, or prolong its youth. You can probably guess that I was so excited to try the Dr Botanicals Cocoa Noir Time Reverse Serum.
I was sent this serum a few weeks ago by Dr Botanicals so I’ve had plenty of try and create an honest review for you my lovely readers! I really like Dr Botanicals. They are a UK brand that are vegan friendly, cruelty free, and believe that beautiful skin can be achieved without the use of chemicals and parabens. After trying out their Advance Purifying Overnight Masque earlier this year (read about that HERE) and totally falling in love with it I was really excited to give one of their other products a try.
The Cocoa Noir Time Reverse Facial Serum has been part of the Dr Botanicals ‘Summer’ campaign to reduce the amount of make up we apply and going back to natural skin whilst on holiday and on those beautiful sunny days! When I like to do a natural or bronzed make up look I like my skin to look healthy, glowing and breakout free. Since I have been using this serum I really feel like my skin has looked more plump and radiant – providing a perfect base for a lighter make up look.
I use this serum every night as part of my night time skincare routine. The consistency of this serum is not like any others that I have tried. As it is very thin like water. I think it is much more concentrated so I only use a small amount. I like the use the pipette that comes within the bottle (30ml) and usually apply 3 drops into the palm of my hand – you could also use a cotton pad if you want! I then dab the serum with my fingers onto a cleansed face and massage it into my skin. I love to use this most on my chin, forehead and under eyes.
The serum is really quick at drying and leaves a lovely scent of coconut on your skin. As many of you know coconut is one of my favourite skincare scents so I love using this product every night. It really makes my skin feel refreshed and looked after. Over the top of the serum I usually use the Dr Botanicals overnight masque if I need lots of hydration OR I use the Nivea Cellular Radiance Night Essence.
Ingredients within the serum include Neroli, Geranium, and Seabuckthorn Fruit oils which all work together to nourish, hydrate and reduce uneven skin tone. As this is such a natural product the ingredients are very luxurious – something that is then reflected in the total price of the product (£84.90). I think this is very expensive for a serum – maybe the product packaging could be more luxurious and come with a card inside showing step by step application of the product and an interesting fact about the brand. This product is definitely more high end than high street!
I have good news though… Dr Botanicals have given me a special offer code so you can have a HUGE discount on this product and not break the bank at all! – If you use the code ANALYST1 at the checkout then you will receive a £64 discount and get the serum for £19.99! This is such a great offer to take advantage of and I promise you wont regret it. I think £20 for a great serum is such a good price, and this product will last for over a year as you only need such a small amount for each application!
