Festival Beauty Essentials*

Its festival season! I love watching live music, eating and drinking amazing things and having a good old dance with my friends. Festivals are all about having the time of your life! In the past however I haven’t felt too confident with how I look at a festival when everyone makes such an effort nowadays. Here are my few beauty essentials with a few products from Nivea to help you have the best time and feel confident and beautiful at a festival or at any event this summer!

Festival Beauty essentials
Festivals are the perfect place to wear bold, bright, strong make up looks. I always never have a lot of time to do my make up. I like to wake up, freshen up, eat, and then run off to the main stage!

Prep your skin:

When you have to walk miles to a sink or shower to freshen up its always worth carrying  a pack of make up wipes with you if you are in a hurry and can’t make the trek!

I have recently been using the Nivea 3 in 1 Micellar cleansing wipes and have found them to be really good for cleaning your skin and removing any make up. So many different brands of make up wipes that I’ve used in the past really sting my eyes and make them sore. These wipes are specially formulated to remove face and eye make up sensitively so no stinging sensation or dryness after you use them!

I love to take a mini moisturiser with me to festivals as it is perfect for tired, dry and slightly hungover skin – we’ve all been there. I love to use a rich moisturiser that I know will keep my skin hydrated and looking awake all day and night! I have used the Nivea Creme moisturiser for years and I love to have a mini one to take away with me!

This moisturiser is perfect for the face AND body. This means you don’t have to think about packing lots of moisturising products as this all everything in one!. Now you can keep your legs looking silky smooth in your denim shorts, or have some form of after sun if you catch the sun right on your nose!. The 50ml pot is super tiny and cute to pop in a make up bag and have it handy all weekend.

Time for the Hair! Whilst your skin is soaking up all that moisturiser now is the perfect time to fix your hair into a style that will work all day!. I love to have mine tied up out of my face in braids – most commonly a fishtail plait or dutch braids. If you are camping over at a festival I really recommend that you take some dry shampoo with you. Its perfect for making your hair look less greasy and for holding your hair in a fixed position ready for all those dance moves and crowd surfing.

I love the Batiste Heavenly Volume dry shampoo, you only need the smallest amount on your hair and it really works to get loads of volume and remove grease! You can only get this one in the large tin so I recommend that you take it for all your girls you are camping with and they will love you forever!

Now its time for the make up!

I tend to not wear any foundation as I usually have a large pair of sunglasses on at a festival that hide most of my face. If you want to though pop some foundation on go for it!. I love to use a fabulous bronzer to give my face some definition and healthy glow!

I love the MAC perfectly lit bronzing quad – I did a review of this for my first ever blog post and it still remains as one of my favourites. I pop it all over my face and then use the lighter shades on my eyes for some added shimmer. This bronzer is highly pigmented so a little goes a long way!

There is always time for highlight. I love that extra bit of glitz at a festival and a highlighter is the most perfect way to be extravagant and in the party mood! I think a cream highlight is best for festivals as they stay put is guaranteed and they are just so easy to apply.

My favourite highlight for ease and size for a little make up bag is the Benefit high beam highlighter. This pearly pink effect highlight makes the top of your cheeks look so beautiful and summery! I also love the small brush applicator as all you have to do is swipe the brush onto the tops of your cheekbones and then blend in using your fingers!

Its always good to maintain your brow game and lovely lashes so I always love to carry a brow gel, high volume mascara and eyelash curlers. This way you can always look prepped and well kept even if you have had a few too many drinks the night before!

My go to brow gel is the Benefit Gimmie Brow. If you have followed my blog for a while you’ll know that this is one of my holy grail favourite products. I have dark brown hair and use the shade number 5. I have found that no other brow gel shapes, defines, and sets my brows like this one – its a must for any make up bag!

I have also fallen in love all over again recently with the Legendary Lashes mascara by Charlotte Tilbury. Its so perfect at lifting the lashes and giving them volume all day. I love a jet back mascara as it gives plenty of definition to any eye look. Team this with a Mac Cosmetics full lash curler and they are a match made in heaven!

No festival look is complete without a bright lip! I love that you can rock so many crazy shades at festivals and its completely acceptable and no one gives you an odd look! My favourite bright shade at the moment is the Clinique ‘lip pop’ lipstick in the shade ‘Kiss Pop’ . Its such a pretty bright pink shade with tonnes of pigment and lots of staying power!. It is perfect for carrying around in your handbag too as the metallic top works as a little mirror!

Hello Sunshine!

So you’re all ready to go and dance for hours but the sun has come out and its starting to get a bit HOT! Its always great to carry a sun cream around with you that’s easy to apply even when your crammed in a field with thousands of people!

Nivea have released a new Roll on sun cream and I have to say its genius! I catch the sun very quickly so it is super handy to have a little sun cream in your bag that you can just whip out and roll on. I also think it applies the perfect amount and you can literally apply cream to your arms and legs in less than a minute! I also think this sun cream would be great for kids! I hated my mum applying sun cream to me when I was little so I think this would be perfect as your child could apply it themselves with supervision!

I literally smother my hair with that dry shampoo everyday. It is such a saviour for thin or flat hair!
I love a bit of texture and it is my ride or die hair product.
