I think I sometimes get stuck in my old ways when it comes to make up brands. I tend to go back to the reliable and trustworthy cosmetics counters and select the same products. It was a truly pleasant surprise when Crownbrush got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to review some of their make up – obviously I said yes and could wait to try brand that I’d never tried before!
Crownbrush are a UK and global brand with the focus on supplying great products to make up artists and lovers all over the world! I was able to chose any products from their website to sample and review.
I went for a range of eye shadows plus some of their amazing make up brushes to see how they worked with their make up. They have also released a new make up setting spray which I was very intrigued about at I’m a lover of make up setting products – read about my favourites HERE.
I chose the following products to review:
Lets start with the make up brushes.
I chose 2 brushes that I thought would be great for creating a smokey eye look with the eye shadows. I was lucky enough to receive 4 make up brushes in the end, each are really great. My favourite has to be the C462 chisel shader brush. The bristles are super soft and the flat small angled design of the brush really helps you get eye shadow right along the lash line for extra definition. I also love the C422 cresent shadow brush. This is perfect for applying any base shadows across the eyelid and also for adding transition shades. This brush too is also very soft and easy to use.
I then decided to choose 4 neutral taupe/pink/brown tones to create a brown smokey eye. Crownbrush eye shadows are really easy to apply with quite a build able texture to them. You can use them wet or dry to get the effect you really want. My only wish is that I wish the neutral and blush toned shadows were more pigmented as they both blended into one and got quite lost on my eyes. My favourite shade was bourbon, a medium toned brown shimmer shadow which works so well in a brown smokey eye.
I also loved that each shadow comes as an individual. Crownbrush’s main market is make up artists, so I can see how having each shadow individually packaged would really help for storage in a large make up kit! For the price point (£5.99) the shadows are large so you also get a lot of product which is great.
The final product from Crownbrush that I tried was their ‘All Day Setting Spray’. This setting spray is described to be – lightweight, non-sticky and helps to stop the natural creasing and shifting of Makeup for up to 12 hours.
I like this setting spray. I don’t like the smell of it and to be honest it sprays out quite a lot of product in one go instead of a ‘mist’ but it does keep my make up from shifting and sliding. I have tried this spray under and over make up and it works really well. It isn’t drying on the skin and you get ALOT of product (60ml) for £10 (total cost).
I was really impressed with the make up and make up brushes from Crownbrush. I have already added a couple of their duo fibre foundation brushes to my birthday wishlist! Have you tried this brand before – what did you think?
Let me know in the comments below – I love reading them,
Have a great week,
