I’ve decided that September 2018 is the month I start searching for my wedding dress! I want to make sure I’m well prepared and know everything from materials to neck lines!. I thought I’d include a few of my findings in a post so I can share them with you!
Every week I change my mind on the style of wedding dress I would like. The only thing I know I would like is white full length dress. I have been searching through styles on the website WED2B and Pinterest for inspiration. You’ll see that my Pinterest account is jam packed with wedding pins at the moment!
I love plain satin strapless dresses with a low back and buttons. I also love full beaded and glamorous dresses with a low back. I’m ruling out heavy/ thick material and sleeves for my dress. These are beautiful features but I’m getting married in the middle of August so don’t want to be all hot and bothered on the big day!
I have been reading recently about a few things to do before you go wedding dress shopping so I thought i’d share them with you.
Shopping too early / late
Wedding shopping is a stressful experience as it is. I feel like there is so much pressure that I need to put on myself to find THE DRESS .To try and avoid the stress I’ve done some research about the perfect time to get your dress. I don’t want to buy my dress too early. I feel like so many brides do this which is amazing for them but my wedding is still over a year away. Who really buys themselves an outfit for an event that’s over a year away?!. Fashions and trends change and therefore I want to choose my dress at the best time. Wedding dress trends follow the seasons. the following years summer trends are released the winter before. Therefore I’m starting dress shopping in September 2018 to try and get the first pick of whats new. They also say provide plenty of time of for fittings and adjustments to your dress so leave yourself at least 6 months for this.
Not sticking to your budget
I’ve been looking at so many dresses and wedding decorations on The Wedding Gallery instagram and website but sometimes I get carried away with the price of everything. I am learning to try and not overspend in other areas so I have plenty of budget for the dress that I really want. I don’t have the biggest budget for a dress so I am looking on dress websites like WED2B. All of the dresses are under £900 and are all stunning. I leave my faves at the bottom of this blog post.
Getting the shoes before the dress
You have probably noticed on my twitter recently that I am saving up for a pair of Sophia Webster Wedding Shoes. Apparently it is best to get your shoes before the dress. In particular heels. Depending on the height of the heel will depend on how long your dress needs to be for the daytime. This also matters in the evening when you want to sway the heels for flip flops!
Here are a few of the dresses I am looking at currently – let me know what you think!. Also let me know if you have any other dress shopping tips for me!
all of the above I found on the WED2B website.
Hope you have a lovely day!
