The Beauty Analyst May 2018 Favourites

Can you believe that we’re half way through this year already?!. It feels like such a long time since I’ve done a favourites post. Last month I tried a lot of new products and wanted to let you guys know about them so thought I’d do a little favourites post. This is all my favourite things from May 2018.

May 2018 Favourites

Why don’t we start with a life update before we get into the post. May has been a great month for me, mainly because we’ve had a load of bank holidays and I took a week off work. I love my job but I love not working more. The weather has been amazing so we’ve spent a lot of time in pub gardens or by the seaside. I also had my brother visit me for a few days and took him into London for drinks and a dinner. I have also been engaged for 1 year! This feels like the past year has flown by and I still haven’t come down from cloud 9. As you can also see my blog now includes a new bridal section. This mainly includes my ways of understanding how to plan a wedding when I don’t really have a clue what I’m doing!

Life update complete now let’s get on with my May faves!

Beauty Favourites

Charlotte Tilbury – Hollywood Lips Liquid Lipstick – ‘Show Girl’

I love the Hollywood Lip liquid lipsticks from Charlotte Tilbury. I currently have 2 shades but since the sunny weather has come out I’ve been leaning towards my pink shade – ‘show girl’. This rosy pink shade is super pretty for all skin types. The liquid lipstick formula’s last FOREVER. I’d actually say that they are my favourite liquid lip as they are that good. You can eat and drink without these budging and the applicator is designed so well for application.

Skin care Favourites

Nivea Q10 vitamin c firming body lotion

As you know I love Nivea products. Recently they asked my to try their new firming body lotion with Q10 + vitamin C and I couldn’t say no!. I love to apply this every day after a shower. This time of year I love using a moisturiser all of my body to keep my skin looking great if I’m in shorts or a skirt. The pump applicator makes it so easy and dispenses the right amount of product.

Lacura Q10 renew night cream

Well for years I have used a Nivea night cream and then went to Aldi and found it’s dupe. Lacura is Aldi’s skin care and beauty brand which is so amazing and affordable. This night cream is £1.49 and is so great. I find that you get more product for your money and no decrease in quality. If you haven’t tried anything from the Lacura range yet I’d really recommend it. I love their sheet masks, and sun cream.

Carbon Coco 100% Natural Teeth Whitening products

I was sent the Ultimate Carbon Kit from Carbon Coco a couple of months ago and last month I started to use the product. I’m a frequent tea drinker and really want to have my teeth whitened for my wedding day but wanted to try a natural method first. You get a toothbrush and a pot of charcoal which you use first then you follow the process by the spearmint activated charcoal toothpaste. I love the toothpaste. It isn’t messy to use and you can replace your own toothpaste with it as it works exactly the same as well as whitening your teeth.

Hair Care Favourites

LUSH Cosmetics – BIG sea salt shampoo

So May was the month where LUSH hit the headlines for a such a stupid and ill thought out campaign. I actually wondered whether to feature this product in my May 2018 favourites at all. In the end I decided to include it as its great. The LUSH BIG sea salt shampoo is such a great shampoo for volume, cleansing and shine for your hair.  I use this as a treatment for my hair once a week. It is great for removing the build up of products like hairspray and dry shampoo. Always have conditioner handy as the sea salt is in large chunks and gets stuck in your hair!

Aldi Diptique dupe candles

It feels like May 2018 was the month every blogger went crazy in Aldi and got the diptique dupe candles including me. I couldn’t believe for £3.99 I got 3 beautifully scented candles. I have featured my favourite candle – ‘roses’ which smells amazing. I have that many candles on the go at the moment I haven’t lit these candles yet but i’ll update you on the burning scents when I use them.

The Bear and the Nightingale – Katherine Arden

Fancy a new read for your holiday?. I am currently reading ‘The Bear and the Nightingale’ by Katherine Arden. The book is about a young girl who discovers she is the only witch in her large family in medieval Russia where witchcraft is forbidden. It’s a really good read and very descriptive. I have already got the second book in the trilogy and can’t wait to start it.

Ohh so many products I want to try here! I have been meaning to try the Lush shampoos for a while. I actually picked up a sun cream in Aldi yesterday, so I am pleased to read that its a good one. It was a bargain! With the Aldi dupe candles, I have literally bought a cupboard full. They were too much of a bargain not too! The reed diffusers are great too, Id recommend grabbing one of you see one xx
